Orc Cleric Build Guide

Orc Cleric Build Guide

An Orc Cleric blends martial might with divine power, letting Relentless Endurance keep them on their feet when darkness falls.

4/10 Synergy Support Role Medium Difficulty

Why Orc Cleric?

The Orc Cleric is a resilient front-liner, blending the divine magic of a Cleric with the raw toughness of an Orc. With a Hit Die of d8, Clerics are already sturdy, and Orcs get even tougher. Your primary stat for spellcasting is Wisdom (WIS), which you'll want to keep high. However, an Orc's natural Strength (STR) of 14 is great for swinging a mace or warhammer, making you a capable melee combatant when spells aren't needed. You'll also want a decent Constitution (CON) of 13 to bolster your hit points.

While your Dexterity (DEX) might be low at 8, forcing you to be mindful of your Armor Class and initiative rolls, your Orc abilities compensate. Adrenaline Rush lets you move faster and gain temporary hit points as a bonus action, and Relentless Endurance can save you from a KO blow. This combination makes you a surprisingly durable support character who can take a hit and keep on casting or fighting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Orc a good race for Cleric?
Orcs can be a fun, if not perfectly optimal, choice for a Cleric, earning a 4/10 synergy rating. Their racial traits, like Relentless Endurance, offer great survivability, especially for Clerics who get up close to support allies. While not the highest synergy, it's a solid pick for a tough, reliable divine caster.
What stats should a Orc Cleric prioritize?
Focus on Wisdom (WIS) for your spellcasting. Aim for a starting WIS of 15. While STR 14 and CON 13 are provided, prioritize increasing your WIS through ability score increases. Don't neglect CON, as more hit points always help, especially for a front-line Cleric.
What party role does this build fill?
The Orc Cleric fills the Support role. With access to spellcasting, this build offers both combat effectiveness and utility.
