Dice Will Decide ("the App", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Account Data
When you create an account: email address, authentication provider (Google), and account creation date.
1.2 Character Data
Characters you create are stored locally on your device (using device storage on mobile, browser localStorage on web). If you opt into cloud sync (future feature), character data will be stored on our servers (Supabase).
1.3 Analytics Data
We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics. We collect:
• Feature usage events (e.g., "character created", "level up completed")
• Device type and screen size
• App version
• Session duration
We do NOT collect: names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any personally identifiable information through analytics. All analytics events are anonymous.
1.4 AI Chat Data
When using the AI Creator, your chat messages are sent to our server (Supabase Edge Function), which forwards them to Google Gemini API for processing. Chat messages are not stored on our servers after the session ends. Google's data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
1.5 Payment Data
Payments are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. Paddle's handling of your payment data is governed by Paddle's Privacy Policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
2. How We Use Your Data
• To provide and maintain the App
• To authenticate your account
• To improve the App through anonymous analytics
• To process AI character creation requests
• To communicate with you about your account (if necessary)
We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.
We do NOT use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage and Security
• Character data: stored locally on your device by default
• Account data: stored on Supabase (hosted in the EU/US)
• Analytics: processed by PostHog
• Payments: processed by Paddle
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure authentication (OAuth 2.0, OTP).
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
• Supabase (authentication, future cloud sync) — supabase.com/privacy
• PostHog (analytics) — posthog.com/privacy
• Google Gemini API (AI features) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Paddle (payments) — paddle.com/legal/privacy
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your character data (JSON/PDF export is built into the App)
• Withdraw consent for data processing

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Cookies
The web version of the App uses essential cookies only for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data Retention
• Account data: retained until you delete your account
• Character data: stored locally, controlled by you
• Analytics data: retained for 12 months, then deleted
• AI chat data: not retained after session ends
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email.
