Why Champion?
The Human Champion is the ultimate straightforward warrior. If you want to roll lots of dice and smash enemies without managing complex spell lists or combat resources, this is the build for you. As a Champion, your main goal is to deal damage as a Striker, which is massively boosted by the Improved Critical feature at level 3. This doubles your chances of scoring a critical hit by letting you land one on a roll of 19 or 20, making every attack roll exciting.
Being a Human pairs beautifully with this combat focus thanks to the Versatile trait, which awards you a free Origin feat at level 1. You can grab a feat like Savage Attacker to reroll poor damage rolls, which synergizes perfectly with your high critical hit frequency. Additionally, the Resourceful trait ensures you start each day with Heroic Inspiration, giving you a clutch reroll to secure that critical strike when your party needs it most.
While your primary job is dealing damage in combat using your high Strength (15) or Dexterity (14), you won't be useless outside of battle. The Human's Skillful trait grants you an extra skill proficiency, which works hand-in-hand with the Champion's Remarkable Athlete feature to make you a surprisingly capable explorer and athlete.
