Why College of Glamour?

An Orc College of Glamour Bard is a brilliant contradiction: a fierce, imposing figure who commands the room with Feywild magic. As a support character, your goal is to manipulate the battlefield and keep your allies safe. While Bards are traditionally fragile, your Orc heritage provides incredible survivability. Traits like Relentless Endurance ensure that even if enemies target you to break your concentration, you drop to 1 Hit Point instead of falling unconscious, keeping your magical performances alive.

Your subclass features, like Mantle of Inspiration, allow you to use your Bardic Inspiration to grant temporary hit points to your party and let them move without provoking opportunity attacks. Combined with the Orc's Adrenaline Rush, you can dash across the battlefield as a bonus action to reposition yourself, gaining your own temporary hit points in the process. This mobility ensures you are always in the perfect position to charm foes and inspire friends.

As you grow in power, features like Beguiling Magic and Mantle of Majesty allow you to cast powerful enchantment spells effortlessly. This build lets you play a commanding, tanky support who can dictate the flow of combat while looking absolutely fabulous doing it.

College of Glamour Features

Beguiling Magic

Level 3

You always have the Charm Person and Mirror Image spells prepared. In addition, you can cast each of these spells without expending a spell slot by expending one of your Bardic Inspiration dice. You can't cast them this way again until you finish a Short Rest.

Mantle of Inspiration

Level 3

You can weave fey magic into a song or dance to bolster the confidence of those around you. When you use your Bardic Inspiration feature, you can spend a Bardic Inspiration die to create a magical ward around yourself. The ward has a number of Hit Points equal to 1d4 + your Bard level + your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). When a Charmed creature within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your Reaction to reduce the damage it takes by the current Hit Points in the ward.

Mantle of Majesty

Level 6

You always have the Command spell prepared. As a Bonus Action, you can expend one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to cast the Command spell using your current maximum Bardic Inspiration die size. You can't cast it this way again until you finish a Short Rest.

Unbreakable Majesty

Level 14

As a Bonus Action, you can assume a magisterial bearing for 1 minute. During this time, whenever a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see makes an attack roll against you, they must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from the attack roll. At the end of the minute, you can't use this feature again until you finish a Short Rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is College of Glamour a good subclass for Orc Bard?
Yes! While Orcs are often seen as brute warriors, their natural durability perfectly offsets the Glamour Bard's usual fragility. Relentless Endurance keeps you standing to maintain your powerful crowd-control concentration spells, while Adrenaline Rush lets you quickly escape danger or rush to an ally's side to deliver a life-saving Mantle of Inspiration.
What makes College of Glamour different from other Bard subclasses?
The College of Glamour specializes in Feywild-style battlefield control and support rather than direct combat or lore-gathering. Unlike other Bards, you focus heavily on repositioning your allies using Mantle of Inspiration, charm-based crowd control via Beguiling Magic, and commanding enemies with free casts of Command through Mantle of Majesty.
