Why Wild Magic Sorcery?
Playing a Wild Magic Sorcerer means embracing beautiful, chaotic danger. Your spells can trigger a random Wild Magic Surge, which might occasionally drop a magical hazard at your own feet. This is where your dwarven heritage shines. Starting with a solid Charisma of 15 ensures your control spells land on foes, while a Constitution of 14 paired with Dwarven Toughness grants you extra hit points to survive those accidental magical backfires.
In addition to extra health, Dwarven Resilience grants you advantage on saving throws against poison. This is incredibly useful when you are acting as a battlefield controller, standing closer to the action to lock down enemies. When you use Tides of Chaos to gain advantage on a roll, you deliberately invite a chaotic surge. Having a sturdier dwarven body means you can confidently trigger these surges without fearing a sudden knockout.
Wild Magic Sorcery Features
Wild Magic Surge
Level 3Once per turn, after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, the DM can have you roll a d20. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect.
Tides of Chaos
Level 3You can gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. Any time before you regain the use of this feature, the DM can have you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. You then regain the use of this feature.
Bend Luck
Level 6When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 2 sorcery points to roll 1d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the creature's roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects occur.
Controlled Chaos
Level 14Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and use either result.
Tamed Surge
Level 18You gain a measure of control over the surges of your wild magic. Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and choose which result to use. If you roll the same number on both dice, you can instead choose any effect on the table.

Use Tides of Chaos early to get advantage on crucial rolls, letting your DM trigger a surge to refresh the feature quickly.
Lean on your Dwarven Toughness hit point buffer to position yourself closer to enemies, making your close-range control spells more devastating.
When an enemy barely passes a saving throw against your control spells, use Bend Luck to subtract 1d4 from their roll.
Do not fear the magic surge table; your Dwarven Resilience protects you if a surge accidentally releases toxic or poisonous effects nearby.
