Why Wild Magic Sorcery?

Playing an Orc Wild Magic Sorcerer turns you into a thrilling, unpredictable battlefield controller. Sorcerers normally want to stay far from danger because of their low hit points, but your Orc traits let you play much more aggressively. With Adrenaline Rush, you can dash as a bonus action to reposition yourself perfectly to cast crowd-control spells, while gaining temporary hit points to absorb incoming damage.

Wild Magic Sorcerers thrive on risk, especially when triggering Wild Magic Surges that can randomly change the tide of battle. If a surge backfires and damages you, or if enemies break through your defenses, your Orcish Relentless Endurance ensures you drop to 1 hit point instead of falling unconscious. This safety net lets you take massive risks with Tides of Chaos to gain advantage on your spells.

Your primary stat is Charisma (starting at 15), which powers your spellcasting, while a solid 14 Constitution keeps you healthy. By combining Orcish survival tools with chaotic magic, you can boldly control the battlefield without fearing the unpredictable backlash of your own spells.

Wild Magic Sorcery Features

Wild Magic Surge

Level 3

Once per turn, after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, the DM can have you roll a d20. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect.

Tides of Chaos

Level 3

You can gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. Any time before you regain the use of this feature, the DM can have you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. You then regain the use of this feature.

Bend Luck

Level 6

When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 2 sorcery points to roll 1d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the creature's roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects occur.

Controlled Chaos

Level 14

Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and use either result.

Tamed Surge

Level 18

You gain a measure of control over the surges of your wild magic. Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and choose which result to use. If you roll the same number on both dice, you can instead choose any effect on the table.
