Why Wild Magic Sorcery?

Playing a Human Wild Magic Sorcerer turns you into a master of chaotic battlefield control. As a Controller, your job is to manipulate the flow of combat, weakening enemies and protecting allies. The Human's Versatile trait lets you start with an extra feat at level 1, giving you crucial positioning or defensive options before your chaotic powers even manifest.

Once you unlock your magic, the Human's Resourceful trait acts as a perfect safety net. This trait grants you free Heroic Inspiration daily, giving you a reliable reroll if your chaotic spells backfire. This pairs beautifully with Tides of Chaos, a feature that grants you advantage on a roll but increases the chance of triggering a random Wild Magic Surge.

Finally, the extra proficiency from the Human's Skillful trait helps you handle social situations using your high Charisma (15). By combining human adaptability with unpredictable magic, you can turn chaotic surges into tactical advantages, ensuring that even your most random spells work in the party's favor.

Wild Magic Sorcery Features

Wild Magic Surge

Level 3

Once per turn, after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, the DM can have you roll a d20. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a random magical effect.

Tides of Chaos

Level 3

You can gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. Any time before you regain the use of this feature, the DM can have you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. You then regain the use of this feature.

Bend Luck

Level 6

When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 2 sorcery points to roll 1d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the creature's roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects occur.

Controlled Chaos

Level 14

Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and use either result.

Tamed Surge

Level 18

You gain a measure of control over the surges of your wild magic. Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and choose which result to use. If you roll the same number on both dice, you can instead choose any effect on the table.
